本剧讲述了1850年代淘金热期间，华裔澳大利亚人不为人知的经历。故事以真实事件为灵感，发生在1957年澳大利亚维多利亚州的巴拉瑞特。在那里，欧洲人、中国人和澳洲原住民（包含澳大利亚土著人和托雷斯海峡岛民）共同生活在一个西部边陲的小镇上，他们试图通过淘金致富。一名白人女性在此地遭 到谋杀，对凶手的追捕在不同群体间掀起了轩然大波。

終極魔王（Master Vile）使用毀滅之球逆轉了地球的運行，時間因而倒轉，戰士們成為沒有超異能的小孩。他們前往不同時空找尋並重組散落的奇奧水晶（Zeo Crystal），這段時間由外星戰士和已恢復的比利捍衛地球。當奇奧水晶重組，一切才回復正常。 任務成功尚未多久，基地遭到天狼將軍及阿達武士（Rito）侵入並竊走奇奧水晶，幸好在爆炸前戰士們已經逃出，基地被毀他們頓失依靠。在廢墟間搜尋時發現了奇奧水晶，顯然是兩個笨賊掉的。此時戰士們跌落地底，來到宙威與智多星在爆炸時重建的新基地。當玄冥大帝一夥正慶祝擊敗金剛戰士的同時，遭到亦想征服地球的機械帝國攻擊。玄冥、幽冥一干人等只能撤退至M-51銀河投靠終極魔王（Master Vile）。藉由奇奧水晶的力量，凱琳、唐娜、洛基、亞當以及大明變身成為對抗機械帝國的最後希望—金剛戰士超能戰將（Zeo Rangers），獲得全新的超能戰將粉紅、黃衣、藍衣、綠衣、紅衣戰士之超異能，初代藍衣戰士比利在這一季中已經成為新金剛戰士的技術師。 對抗機械帝王陰謀的同時，戰士們獲得金衣戰士達利（Trey）的協助，達利（Trey）後來離去至別的星球掃蕩邪惡，把超異能傳給了初代紅戰士英傑，成為第六位戰士，直到將能力歸還達利（Trey）為止。 為了對付 Divatox 和 Maligore，戰士們轉換高速檔，獲得新的Turbo超異能。金剛戰士超能戰將（Zeo Rangers）。走入歷史。
